Busy, Busy, Busy, Our First Faux Tree
Hi there, Well its been a few days since I have been able to blog and for those that are following I do apologize. On my last post, I was in the midst of getting all the packages that needed to be sent out and on their way. I have them all out but two, and the two remaining have some flexibility. As far as our home, things still need to be done.
Today I am working on the house, the entire downstairs needs a deep cleaning. My kids and I are putting away all the things that have been taken out since Sunday. I have moved the furniture around for the tree, this year we bought a faux tree. I must admit I was pretty much on the fence about this because I like going to the tree lot and picking out a real tree. It kind of sets the atmosphere, however, living out here in the desert brings a whole other situation that you don’t get when you live on the coast like we did in San Diego. Allergies. Pine trees and indoors don’t mix.
Then there is a plus to it all, its kind of a green thing to do. We are not contributing to the needless cutting of a live tree for a few weeks of enjoyment every year. The faux tree will last years, one of best friends has had a tree for 15 years. I think that its paid for itself in spades, it has saved 15 live trees.
The rest of my week pretty much I think it looks like some of yours, we are having a Christmas party here with other homeschool families. My dh is coming down sometime in the middle as Santa. He really is pretty good at it, he isn’t shaped like Santa at all but he stuffs himself up well and ho ho ho’s pretty good. Last year, our own kids didn’t even recognize him.
Then our older son is spending his weekend in final dress rehearsals for the community play. He’s playing a demon in a play called Saving Christmas. Here’s the link if you would like to check it out, www.broadwayweststudio.com .
Well this is enough of a blog, I will write again after the weekend.. Tune in Sunday when I blab a few more things.
